Mellow Monday! BTS – Intro:Serendipity

So, I held off putting this into a Mellow Monday until the album officially came out. The whole video for me, on a lyrical and visual level, is incredibly satisfying.

The entire video for me, on a lyrical and visual level, is extremely satisfying. Jimin’s smooth vocals, coupled with the aesthetically pleasing video, makes for a full-on ear-gasm. It’s not a complicated song. It’s not filled with heavy bass drops or teeming with overused samples. It’s just a beautiful song.

BTS for me has always been a favourite – Every album has songs I can vibe to. Songs I can relate to. And even that one song you can play 100 times, and still love it enough to play 100 more.

I’m going to contemplate doing an album review. Simply because the album, is fantastic. But I won’t promise this outright as I know myself – I have photos and a half written post about a skincare routine, that I promised to do back in February. So if we get this post count yourselves incredibly lucky.

I’m going to end this post now because I must sleep. I have work in the morning and want to be at least 80% functional for my shift.

Mellow Monday! Wake Up Alone – Amy Winehouse

This is one of my favourite Amy Winehouse songs. It’s very vocal on the isolation and loneliness after a heartbreak.

There isn’t really much to say after the point, so just enjoy.

Update guys, by the time this post is up, I would have quit smoking – let’s hope this isn’t another bullshit thing i say and go back on.

Blog soon.

Mellow Monday! Haru – Royal Pirates

Royal Pirates have always been that key K-Indie band for me – Such silky vocals on very sultry backing tracks.

Their whole discography is a dream to listen to.

I’ll also link below an acoustic version os Betting Everything as it is my other favourite song by them.

Enjoy and hopefully I will blog properly soon, I’ve got a tonne of posts scheduled but they are all very short and quick.

I’ll write soon.

Mellow Monday! Dig – Incubus

So for the first time in a long time, I am on time to post this Mellow Monday! Today’s song choice is one of my favourite songs since it was released. I’m not sure why but I feel some sort of emotional connection with Incubus as a band; their songs have got me through a lot of shit in the past and their lyrics are just so captivating.

I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that Brandon’s voice soothed me through my break up with my boyfriend, through the end of friendships and the like. Plus the man is attractive as hell and that’s always a plus point for admiring the unattainable.

There is something just melodic and lulling about the choice of chords in Dig. I’m not sure why but I really love it!

I could have chosen to share Drive with you, their more popular song – which as a mile stone is one of the only songs I learnt, well attempted to learn, to play on guitar. But just known whichever I posted I could tell you I have on many occasions, attempted to sing along too – I’m not a bad singer but I sure as hell ain’t great!

So I’m hoping every single person who stumbles across this blog is having a great Monday and enjoys listening to Incubus and their music as much as I do; whether its your first time or just a gentle reminder that you love them.

I know I mentioned last time getting ready to schedule blog posts, but this time I am ready to do so – I’m feeling especially motivated after finishing a book and wanted to do nothing but talk about it to anyone and everyone who will listen to me ramble on.

Potentially post tomorrow, I’m hitting up a quiz night at my other work place and I won’t turn down a cheeky glass of red!

Eli

P.S. Enjoy this cheeky live version

Mellow Monday! (But on a Thursday) 1979 – Smashing Pumpkins

My posting on here has been erratic to say the least. I’m looking to blog over the weekend and prepare plenty of posts for scheduling – an 8 hour hairdressers appointment will surely buy me enough time to get this sorted out, haha.

But in the time between now and then, enjoy my ‘late’ Mellow Monday of 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins. It’s a great song and I think I’ve had it on repeat so much over the past few days.

Post soon!
